> Inside Parliament

Reference to collapse of the Member of Parliament while delivering his speech on Budget 2020. I suggest that those vying for political office be given a thorough medical examination before being approved to stand for election. Also support PM Tun Dr Mahathir’s warning to Pakatan Harapan MPs to be in the August house for debates. – Bulbir Singh, Seremban

> Revolutionise education

Do not let the skills learnt by living skills teachers go to waste. Offer these different skills (electronics, woodwork and cookery, to name a few) as separate electives in Form 4. Not all students are academically inclined and places in technical and vocational education and training are limited. In New Zealand, secondary schools offer many skills-based subjects, including photography, for the upper forms. Revolutionise education and make entrepreneurs.

> Appalled beyond words!

It is splashed daily in newspapers, magazines, electronic media and even in children’s books that global warming is a very serious issue. We are heating up the world faster than nature can cool it back down. We condemn countries that destroy trees for farming purposes, development, and etc. Then why does a huge development company cut down hundreds of perfectly beautiful, healthy, 20- to 40-year-old trees on a golf course, saying it wants to replace them with fruit trees that will take 10 to 15 years to grow to the size of the trees they destroyed? We need these huge trees NOW. – SZZ

> Economy’s the thing

Lebanon is proof that no matter what, the economy holds sway over the stability of any country. Without a strong and vibrant economy, we would all need to struggle just to survive and would definitely have no time to ponder on or contemplate anything else.
