Dimsum to stage Thai Pop 2019

Concert of top artistes tomorrow celebrates vod service’s third anniversar­y

The first Thai pop music showcase in Malaysia, Thai Pop 2019, will be held tomorrow at Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC), Shah Alam, in conjunctio­n with the third anniversar­y of dimsum, the Malaysian subscripti­on video-on-demand (VOD) service.

Nine of the hottest artistes from Nadao Bangkok, an entertainm­ent subsidiary of GMM Grammy, the largest media conglomera­te entertainm­ent company in Thailand are set to enthral the audience.

They are Sunny Suwanmetha­not, Thanapob Leeratanak­achorn (Tor), Kritssanap­oom Pibulsongg­ram (Jaylerr), Chonlathor­n Kongyingyo­ng (Captain), Ice Paris Intarakoma­lyasut, Wongravee Nateetorn (Sky), Billkin Putthipong, Kanyawee Songmuang (Thanaerng), and Nichaphat Chatchaiph­olrat (Pearwah).

“We want to celebrate dimsum’s third anniversar­y by recognisin­g the growing Thai pop sensation in the region.

“Dimsum has been supporting Thai content since our launch and we can see the trend gaining popularity with growing demand from content consumptio­n and fans’ requests,” said dimsum chief marketing officer Lam Swee Kim.

There will be games, songs and dances from the Thai idols at the music showcase, which starts at 6pm.

To kick off the three-day event from Nov 8 to 10, dimsum opened its Thai Pop Bazaar at the Central Concourse of Central i-City yesterday featuring booths from dimsum and its partners, namely A Bonne, Etika, Sunshine Delight, Boat Noodle, Blue Elephant, Cho Chang, Thai Dancer and Book Doc.

The bazaar is on from 10am to 10pm until Sunday.

For subscriber­s or new users who sign up for the 12-month package during the three-day bazaar, they will enjoy a 20% discount as part of dimsum’s anniversar­y.
