Warisan using blame tactics over PSS issue, claims PBS

-

Parti Warisan Sabah is using diverging and blaming tactics to convince people to accept the Sabah Temporary Pass (PSS) instead of providing facts and proof, says Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS).

“Warisan has repeatedly said that PSS is a continuation of the former government’s recommendations via the Royal Commission of Inquiry on illegal immigrants,” said party vice-president Datuk Johnny Mositun.

He said Warisan had also blamed Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan for the recommendations and even pulled out notes of the Management Technical Committee on Immigrants Meeting chaired by Pairin on March 14, 2016, to mislead the people.

“That meeting only recorded recommendations from the various government department and agency heads to the main committee for consideration and action,” he added.

Mositun said it was the prerogative of the main committee headed by then chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman to act on all or any of those recommendations and findings in part or whole.

He said Pairin’s responsibilities ended there and it was not even PSS that was recommended, but a Resident Pass which was only intended for the IMM13 documents held by Filipino refugees.

“Nowhere is it indicated that cards of a three-year tenure, renewable infinitely, are recommended,” he said.

PSS is proposed to be issued for IMM13, Burung-Burung certificates and Census card holders.

Burung-Burung and Census card holders are believed to be the families of refugees and the stateless.

PBS, in supporting Pairin’s stand to oppose PSS, said the party would not be deterred in any way, including threats or inducements, to change its stance on the matter.

Mositun said the people could see through the Warisan-Pakatan Harapan agenda clearly, and now it was resorting to gimmicks and distorting facts to hide its hidden agenda.
