Accounting grad finds success in fish crackers
AN accounting graduate from Universiti Putra Malaysia began a fish cracker business and became successful even though she started late, reported Sinar Harian.
Safidazura Nasir, 35, said she started focusing on her father’s business three months ago, ever since she started learning about the trade from her dad for five years.
The mother of two said although the fish cracker business in Telaga Papan Semerak village in Kelantan was highly competitive, she felt motivated to do better.
“I put emphasis on the quality of the crackers, so the price of the fish crackers is higher than other varieties.
“Our crackers are black and grainy as the fish is not completely quashed in order to bring out the flavour and uniqueness,” she said.
Many wholesalers from Kota Baru, Pasir Mas, Machang and Gua Musang have ordered fish crackers from Safidazura.
She intends to expand her business to Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak soon.
> The daily also reported that an army veteran lost RM159,000 to a Macau Scam syndicate after being duped into believing he was involved in drug trafficking.
The head of the police Commercial Crime Investigation Department in Negri Sembilan, Supt Aibee Ab Ghani, said the 73-year-old victim received a call on Friday from a woman named Suraya Sulaiman who claimed to be from a court in Terengganu.
He said the victim was first told that he had RM10,180.74 in credit card debts, and when he denied it, the call was transferred to a “sergeant” at the “Terengganu police contingent headquarters”.
“The victim was told to open a new bank account and transfer all his savings to it in order to clear drug-trafficking allegations.
“The panicked victim followed the instructions and transferred RM50,000 to the account on the same day.
“He also provided his bank card number, PIN access and other personal information to the ‘policeman’,” Supt Aibee added.
The army veteran later found out that his savings from both accounts had been wiped out.
