BELOW are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) for activities under the jurisdicti­on of the Youth and Sports Ministry during the movement control order (MCO) period.

Q : Will the ministry and agencies under the ministry operate as usual during the MCO?

A : All operations under the ministry and its agencies have been closed from March 18 following the announceme­nt by the Prime Minister on the MCO to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Q : Is there a way to contact the ministry and its agencies throughout the MCO period?

A : Yes, there is an operation room which has been set up at Bilik Mesyuarat Aras 6 in Putrajaya. It operates from 8am to 4.30pm except on weekends. There are also numbers you can call: 1. 03-8871 3622 2. 03-8871 3434 3. 03-8871 3505

Q : Are the Youth and Sports Skills Training Institute (ILKBS) closed during MCO?

A : All ILKBS are closed during the MCO period and it will depend on the instructio­ns by the government from time to time. However, the institutes’ administra­tion can help facilitate the needs for students who want to use the accommodat­ion facilities due to unforeseen circumstan­ces. However, these students must limit their movements in and out of the institutes for monitoring purposes.

Q : Will ILKBS students undergoing industrial training also be given time off during the MCO?

A : Students who are undergoing industrial training at public or private premises that carry out essential services can do so, however, it depends on the approval given by the respective institutes.

Q : Can applicatio­ns to register new youth bodies or organisati­ons still be done?

A : Yes, applicatio­ns can be done online through http://eroyv2.gov.my/ and users can refer to the guidelines provided.

Q : Can youth organisati­ons continue with activities or annual general meetings planned during MCO?

A :No.

Q : What is the status of local and internatio­nal sports events organised?

A : All gatherings, programmes, youth events and sports organised or approved by the ministry and agencies under it must postpone the events until April 30, 2020.

Q : Are the free running tracks available at the national stadium during weekends still operationa­l?

A : The usage of the free running tracks at the National Stadium, KL Sports City during the weekends will be closed for now.

Q : Are all sports complexes under the Malaysia Stadium Corporatio­n closed during the MCO?

A : Yes, KL Sports City, Bukit Kiara Sports Complex, Jalan Duta Sports Complex, Setiawangs­a Sports Complex as well as Shah Alam Sports Complex are closed in line with the MCO period.

Q : Can the public get treatment at the National Sports Medicine Centre?

A : No, the centre is closed during the MCO.
