Members of Selangor Wanita MCA got together to make plastic protective aprons for frontliners.
PETALING JAYA: Members of Selangor Wanita MCA made use of their free time for a good cause by making plastic protective aprons for medical frontliners.
They donated bales of the plastic material and spent days churning out 14,000 pieces of the protective wear, which were given to several hospitals and health clinics in the Klang Valley.
While most of us are staying home, frontliners are battling selflessly to make sure Malaysians are safe. We hope to boost their morale through our efforts.

Selangor Wanita MCA chief Tee Hooi Ling said the initiative was mooted by its women entrepreneur bureau chief Sereen Ng, who first mobilised her employees at her nail salon chain.
“The initiative started with Ng making use of their free time during the movement control order to help the frontliners.
“We then collaborated with her team and upped the ante by chipping in in terms of support, contribution and manpower.
“The committee raised the funds among themselves and purchased 20 bales of plastic material from a local supplier,” she said.
Tee said the apron template was provided by a local fashion designer.
She said the participants learned how to measure and cut the plastic material in batches through a tutorial before continuing to make the protective aprons at home.
“The initiative received overwhelming response and we managed to complete the job within days.
“Due to the pandemic, many sectors and people have been impacted.
“While most of us are required to stay at home, the frontliners are battling selflessly to make sure Malaysians are safe.
“We hope to boost their morale through our efforts,” said Tee.
