Bowls of goodies as Ameerul’s Raya joy rolls out as planned
YOUNG national bowler Tun Ameerul Hakim Tun Hasnul Azam and his family had been looking forward to a family gathering for this Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
And they are not about to let the Covid19 outbreak spoil their plans.
Not to worry, their plans already fall within the rules drawn up by the government. There will certainly be fewer than 20 people at their gathering.
The 21-year-old, who won the World Championships doubles event with Adrian Ang in 2018, said his family had made plans before the movement control order to spend Hari Raya together.
Last year, he was in Jakarta for the celebration, and this year, Ameerul will be home with the family.
Ameerul and his younger brothers Tun Ameerul Muzaffar, Tun Ameerul Ashraf and Tun Ameerul Izman planned the do and have booked a homestay in Kuala Lumpur for the festival.
Tun Ameerul, who lives on his own in Kuala Lumpur, said he was looking forward to being with his loved ones, but gave an assurance that they would obey the government’s rules.
“We planned for it already. All of us will meet up together at a homestay in Klang Valley,” he said.
With him, his three brothers and parents, there will only be six in the family, giving more than enough room for a few guests.
“Of course, there will not be more than 20 people at home,” he joked.
“Whether it is a small or big celebration, the significance of Raya is the same, which is gratitude to God after a month of fasting. So, we are fine with any form, and we’re grateful for the surroundings that we are in.”
