Webinars on work place inclusivity
A SERIES of webinars on inclusive employment for individuals with mental health difficulties, autism spectrum disorders and learning disabilities will be held by the University of Nottingham Malaysia.
The varsity’s ‘Inclusion in the Workplace’ research group will be organising webinars on the topic on June 17 and July 14.
The webinars will cover issues pertaining to mental health, workplace support and social security.
It will serve as a platform for networking and sharing best practices to develop diversity and inclusion initiatives in companies.
The first session will feature talks titled ‘Mental Health Services and Programmes’ by Malaysian Mental Health Association honorary secretary-general Dr Ang Kim Teng, ‘The Impact of Job Coaches on Sustainable Employment’ by Yayasan Gamuda Enabling Academy manager Yeo Swee Lan, and ‘Autism Spectrum Disorders in the Workplace’ by University of Nottingham associate professor of psychology Dr Marieke de Vries.
The second session will feature talks titled ‘Moving with Mentari: Motives, Methods and Milestones’ by Mentari Malaysia consultant psychiatrist Dr Nor Hayati Ali, and ‘Developing Strategic Plans to Embrace Inclusion’ by Dr Michael David Hall.
There will also be a discussion of a research paper titled ‘Transition to Employment’ presented by Prof Dr Loh Sau Cheong from Universiti Malaya.
