Mall security guard finds online fame

-

A SECURITY guard found online fame after a clip of him singing while taking temperatures of patrons at a mall in Melaka went viral, Berita Harian reported.

Akmal Ramdan’s singing, which was captured by his friend known as Zarulgriezmann on Instagram, has now been watched over 800,000 times.

Akmal, who works at a mall in Bachang, said he liked to entertain customers while working.

The 23-year-old said he was surprised people from Kuala Lumpur came to Melaka to see him sing.

“I just want people to have a bit of joy as I know the Covid-19 outbreak has made everyone worried,” he said.

Before the Covid-19 outbreak, he was performing at events, but took a job as a security guard in April to get by financially.

> The daily also reported that singer Wani Kayrie (pic) has shut down the comment section on her Instagram account following a controversy on social media channel TikTok.

Wani, whose real name is Syazwani Abdullah, courted controversy after posting a clip of herself dancing with her face painted black – which was the make-up she had on to play Dayang Senandung in a television series.

The clip of her dancing went viral internationally and was mistaken for blackface, a make-up style used by non-black performers to play black people in the past.

Wani, 20, also made her Instagram account private. She said she closed the comment section to stop local fans from having arguments with people from other countries.

She said there were those who offered her their support.

Dayang Senandung is a story about a princess whose skin turned black after a curse.
