Desperate for details on SOP to leave country

- GLITTERING GREEN SHAMROCKS Kulim, Kedah

I AM a healthcare professional who has obtained official permission to enter Ireland for work purposes. I have a valid international passport and the two international airlines I usually fly with are operating as usual out of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

With all this in hand, I would like to know if there are any other documents or permissions I need. Specifically, what documents are required to exit Malaysia for work during this recovery movement control order (MCO) period? Would an official Irish work permit and a letter from the Irish Immigration suffice for my departure from Malaysia?

I have searched the Immigration Department and KLIA websites for answers to no avail. I also tried calling KLIA and the National Security Council several times but all I got was a pre-recorded response that led nowhere. The service was utterly disappointing!

I then visited the local immigration office where I live in Kedah but was told by the two officials in the very empty office that they, too, are frustratingly confused. They said people visit daily to ask questions but they are not in a position to authorise any travel, regardless of the purpose. I was told to email the director-general of the Immigration Department, which I did.

That was last week and I have yet to receive a response. I wonder if I will get a reply before my flight, which is tentatively scheduled for the first week of July. I urge the relevant authorities to please provide specific instructions as soon as possible for travellers like me.
