Kuamut rep lodges report over unknown cars

-

KOTA KINABALU: Kuamut assemblyman Datuk Masiung Banah has lodged a police report on the presence of unknown cars outside his house recently.

He lodged a report at the Karamunsing police station here at about noon yesterday.

“This report is to urge the police to investigate the presence of these vehicles, which appeared in front of my home at about 2pm on Monday,” he said at the police station.

Masiung said that according to his housekeeper, who answered the doorbell, a man came out of a vehicle and asked if he and his wife were at home.

“I was out buying items for a coming programme in my constituency but my wife was home,” he said.

He said his housekeeper then told the man that they were both out.

The man became angry and told her not to lie, claiming he knew both Masiung and his wife were inside the house.

Masiung said the man even asked how long he had been out, to which the housekeeper said “about two hours”. The man later left.

His wife, who came to know about the matter, then checked the CCTV recording and saw there were about seven to eight cars outside.

“My wife called and informed me about the matter and after a discussion I decided to cancel my programme and not go home for the night,” he said.

Masiung said they did not know whom the vehicles belonged to or the man.

“We have never met them and they are certainly not friends,” he said. Masiung said at this point, he was still a strong supporter of Parti Warisan Sabah and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

There was a frenzy over social media when news of a large presence of vehicles in front of Masiung’s residential area went viral.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Zaini Jass said police had gone to Masiung’s house to check on a call saying that there were suspicious vehicles outside his house.
