Observe SOP as more sectors reopen

-

KUALA LUMPUR: It can never be stressed enough. With the opening of more social sectors today, the public must be even be more vigilant in the fight against Covid-19.

Besides the reopening of government and private preschools and kindergartens, rules for other places such as theme parks have also been relaxed, while body temperature screenings at shopping centres need only be conducted once.

Spas and massage centres, cinemas, theatres, indoor live events and swimming pool activities are also allowed to operate from today.

Before this, the government had allowed social events like wedding receptions, engagement ceremonies, religious events, birthday and anniversary celebrations to be held, beginning the same date.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah have repeatedly reminded us to observe the standard operating procedure (SOP) set by the National Security Council and the Health Ministry.

In the case of weddings and solemnisation ceremonies, no more than 250 guests are allowed at one time, whether held in a mosque, hall, house or other locations.

“We don’t want to create a wedding reception cluster such as the one in Bandar Baru Bangi, or a theme park cluster, or any other cluster, so it’s crucial that we practise self-discipline as we enjoy ourselves,” said Bernama in an editorial.

“It must be remembered that the war against Covid-19 is not yet over, even though the signs are good that the country is on the right track.” — Bernama
