TV host called out for joking about kite incident

-

A TAIWANESE TV host was criticised for making fun of an incident involving a child who was pulled into the air after getting tangled up in kite string, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Having shared the one-minute video on his Weibo, 41-year-old Eddy Ou wrote: “It’s the end of the summer holidays and the level of fun kids are having has reached sky high.”

His joke did not sit well with netizens, many of whom criticised the father of two.

“In the accident (the child) was strangled (by the kite string). Do you think this is fun?” one wrote.

Others slammed Ou for making light of another person’s misery.

He took down the video two hours later.

The accident, which was captured on video, reportedly happened during the Hsinchu City International Kite Festival on Sunday.

The three-year-old girl got tangled up in kite string and was pulled 10m into the air by strong winds.

Many of those present rushed forward to catch the girl, who was in the air for less than a minute before descending to the ground. She suffered injuries on her face and neck. > Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung has denied rumours that she is pregnant with her fourth child after she was spotted with what appeared to be a baby bump last week, Sin Chew Daily also reported.

“Definitely not! Not now, not in the future.

I’ve had enough. Won’t be giving birth anymore!” Cheung, 40, said in a video posted on Monday.

She noted that she was wearing a baby carrier while holding her “heavy” one--yearold son Marcus earlier that day, adding: “This isn’t something a pregnant woman would do.”

Last week, she posted a video of herself posing for studio photos wearing a tight-fitting T-shirt, with fans noticing what appeared to be a bump underneath her T-shirt.

Cheung has three sons, two of whom are from her earlier marriage with actor Nicholas Tse, while the identity of the father of the youngest child remains undisclosed.
