Persevere and we shall win the battle
WITH the recovery movement control order (MCO) extended to Dec 31, Malaysians must be prepared for challenges in the economic and personal fronts as Covid-19 is still at a potent stage. In fact, experts say it has mutated and the transmission rate of the new strains is up to 10 times faster while the disease is more deadly.
We have no other choice but to persevere through this very difficult period and continue to take the precautions recommended by our health and other authorities.
Again and again, we are reminded to stay safe and protect ourselves, but there are folks who have no regard for physical distancing or wearing face masks, among others, thus endangering their life and others, too.
To these folks, I say please change your behaviour and do the necessary. We must make the best of this ugly situation by making wise adjustments and decisions, cut unnecessary expenses and spend within our means.
For those who have lost their jobs, please remember that there is no shame in accepting a lower-paid one as long as the salary is halal. Don’t expect to get a job with the same salary because companies nowadays are looking for staff who are flexible, versatile and willing to step out of their comfort zone.
This new normal calls for a deliberate and conscious change in our mindset, from negativity to positivity, adjusting and adapting to the new business environment and, individually, in the conduct of our lives.
Stay motivated, be inspired and stay safe. Persevere and we shall win the battle against this pandemic.
