Spread the good word on human rights and win prizes
Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) is offering weekly prizes to winners spreading human rights messages.
Through its #Ride4Rights Contest, Suhakam hopes to attract the support and participation of the public, particularly MRT and KTM commuters, to help spread human rights messages to a wider section of society.
Participants stand to win 55 weekly prizes comprising either T-shirts or tote bags.
Suhakam Touch ‘n Go card worth RM100 would be presented to nine grand prize winners.
Its commissioner Datuk Lok Yim Pheng said the aim was to heighten respect for human rights.
“We hope to enhance public awareness on human rights towards fostering a Malaysian society in which human rights are fully respected and enjoyed equally by all,” she said.
The contest period is from Sept 7 to Nov 30 this year.
It is held in conjunction with Suhakam’s first-ever human rights advertisements on public transport.
The advertisements on both MRT and KTM commuter trains will be displayed for a year, starting from Sept 1 this year.
“It is an unconventional step taken by Suhakam to promote greater public awareness on human rights as well as to improve its visibility and services as a national human rights institution in Malaysia,” she said during the ceremony.
Suhakam’s services and scope of human rights are demonstrated through interesting visuals and messages displayed on both MRT and KTM commuter trains.
