Actress Wan Sharmila fends off talk over ring
ACTRESS Wan Sharmila has come out to fend off fans’ frenzied speculation over a ring given to her by her friend, actor Syazwan Zulkifly, Kosmo! reported.
The 39-year-old denied speculation that they were a couple and explained that she was promoting the ring gifted to her by a shop on Instagram selling the accessory.
“My relationship with Syazwan is only as a friend. I am very comfortable around him.
“I am coming out to say this – not to protect anyone but because I am still single,” she said when met at an event in Kuala Lumpur.
She said while some fans had hoped that they would pair up, this was merely based on the fact that they had recently acted in the popular drama 7 Hari Mencintaiku.
Syazwan, 33, too received a lot of attention after he posted on his Instagram a video of him handing the ring to the actress.
> Harian Metro reported that a police officer, known only as N who is believed to be protecting a drug syndicate in Langkawi, has been transferred.
The daily said two others were also transferred over their involvement with the syndicate.
In the latest development, it was said that the Langkawi police headquarters was also “visited” by officers from Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standard Compliance Department and the Narcotics Department.
The daily reported on Sept 3 that a drug trafficking ring, involving an “insider”, was the main reason for the illegal activities on the island.
The gang was said to be working together with a local drug dealer, known as Mat Nahar or “Pablo Escobar”.
