Ongkili: Nomination of Hajiji in line with PBS’ stance

-

The nomination of Datuk Hajiji Mohd Noor as Chief Minister is consistent with Parti Bersatu Sabah’s (PBS) stance throughout the state polls, says its party president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili (pic).

Ongkili, who is also the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) and Kota Marudu MP, said PBS views the decision to nominate Hajiji as the 16th Chief Minister of Sabah as most appropriate.

“It is consistent with PBS’ proposal and stand during the course of the state election, while other parties made their decision based on the outcome of the just concluded election.

“PBS is confident with the support of members of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah. Hajiji will be able to execute his duties well based on his vast experience as a former state Cabinet minister and seven-term assemblyman,” said Ongkili in a statement yesterday.

He added that Hajiji’s expertise would be invaluable and would be put into good use to serve the people.

PBS also believed that Hajiji would be able to honour the mandate given and lead the state as the Chief Minister “for all Sabahans”.

“PBS looks forward to working closely with him and offer the new Chief Minister the full support and cooperation to form this new Sabah government.

“We are confident that through the formation of the new Sabah government under the GRS, we will be able to create new achievements and records that we can be proud about,” concluded Ongkili.
