KUALA LUMPUR: Months of abusive behaviour and stalking by a former boyfriend have made the life of a saleswoman a living hell.

The woman, who only wants to be known as Wong, claimed that she was being constantly harassed by her 59-year-old ex-boyfriend after their break-up in June when he became abusive towards her.

The 40-year-old alleged that the man would stalk her at her apartment, family home and even at her workplace, berating her with abusive language.

Even her clients are not spared as Wong said her ex-boyfriend would tail her whenever she went out for work. Wong believes that he could not accept that their relationship was over.

“He would call me on the office

phone to scold me. I tried blocking his number but he uses other phones to call,” she said.

Wong lodged two police reports in July and September and the authorities summoned the man to the police station.

“He went down on his knees and begged for her forgiveness at the station. But the harassment continued almost immediately,” said MCA Public Services and Complaints

Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong, who organised a press conference for Wong.

Wong had gone to Chong for help on Sept 29, three days after her ex-boyfriend went to her home.

The profanity-laden confrontation between Wong and the man was recorded on camera and played to the media.

In the short clip, a man can be seen shouting profanities at the camera and pointing aggressively at the person recording the video.

Wong said she had to call her ex-husband for help, being fearful for the safety of her 10-year old son.

“I called this press conference to expose this man. People like him get scared after they are exposed.

“If the harassment doesn’t end, I will contact him personally.

“If that still doesn’t resolve matters, I will ask help from the police,” said Chong.
