EPF seeks public feedback online

Survey aims to improve and redesign scheme for a better future

PETALING JAYA: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is seeking public feedback to help improve and redesign its scheme for the future.

The online EPF 2020 public consultation survey, which began on Oct 8 and runs for eight weeks, is in line with its vision to help members achieve a better future while also safeguarding their savings and delivering excellent services.

“We are cognisant that our members’ needs change depending on their circumstances in life, their age or career progression,” said EPF chief strategy officer Nurhisham Hussein in a press statement.

On top of members’ needs, he said job landscape and work culture had also changed with the adoption of technology and economic conditions.

“The time is ripe for us to re-examine the EPF scheme and to do this well, we have to solicit the public’s opinion,” he said.

The last time EPF conducted a survey was in 2015, which at that point “was the largest ever public consultation carried out in Malaysia”.

“Our members’ well-being matters to us and we believe that the best way to serve them better is to go back to the public, including Malaysian and non-Malaysian members.

“We want to know what they think about how we can improve or do better.

“With 2021 around the corner, we feel that it is timely to conduct another survey in order for us to better understand the public’s needs and how we can help them to prepare for their retirement,” he said.

The survey will focus on matters highlighted by EPF members themselves.

“While we have done our best to respond with various innovations and service improvements, we feel that we can improve even more by asking more specific questions related to the heart of members’ aspirations.

“Therefore, for this year’s survey, we have questions covering areas such as contributions, withdrawals, dividends and the EPF account structure.

“We wish to emphasise that the survey is for the public, whether they are contributors or not, as we want to hear from everyone in order to design an EPF scheme that is inclusive and sustainable,” Nurhisham said.

The EPF 2020 Public Consultation Survey is open until Nov 30 to all Malaysians, as well as non-Malaysians who are working in the country via https://survey2020.kwsp.gov.my
