‘Many still going out without face masks’

-

PETALING JAYA: Many are still not wearing face masks in crowded public spaces despite efforts to flatten the Covid-19 curve, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

“Of the 460 compounds issued on Friday, 182 of them were slapped on those for not wearing face masks.

“I hope people will comply as wearing face masks in crowded public spaces is the most basic of the standard operating procedure (SOP),” the Senior Minister said in his Covid-19 briefing yesterday.

Ismail Sabri also said there were a large number of people who did not adhere to physical distancing, not to mention premises that failed to provide facilities for recording the details of customers.

“A total of 106 people were compounded for not complying with physical distancing while another 110 compounds were issued for failing to provide recording details.”

In light of this, Ismail Sabri said enforcement officers would step up checks to ensure compliance with the SOP and that they would not compromise with offenders.
