Hajiji finally sworn in as assemblyman
KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who was discharged from hospital on Oct 18 after recovering from Covid-19, has finally been sworn in as an assemblyman.
He took his oath in front of state assembly Speaker Datuk Kadzim M. Yahya before signing the letter of appointment yesterday.
Hajiji, who is Sabah Bersatu chairman, won the Sulaman seat in the September state election.
He has held the seat since 1990. Those who took the oath along with Hajiji yesterday were Sulabayan assemblyman Datuk Dr Jaujan Sambakong who was also previously quarantined for Covid19, and two nominated assemblymen Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee and Datuk Amisah Yassin.
Bugaya assemblyman Manis Muka Mohd Darah, however, was not present as she is still being quarantined at the hospital.
She is the only one who has not been sworn in.
On Oct 8, 74 state assemblymen took their oath without the presence of Hajiji as he was in self-quarantine before he was hospitalised for Covid-19.
There are 73 elected state representatives and six nominated assemblymen in Sabah.
