Two men in a Proton Waja who fled from the police after hitting other vehicles at a traffic light have been detained and remanded.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said one suspect, known as “Bob Mah Sing”, was detained at an apartment in Shah Alam at about 11.45pm on Friday.

The suspect’s accomplice was arrested earlier in Desa Aman, some 1km from where they ditched the vehicle along Jalan Kuala Selangor-Sungai Buloh following a puncture.

“The K-9 and Forensic units found 1.7g of heroin in the car,” he said when contacted yesterday.

ACP Nik Ezanee said that ‘Bob Mah Sing’ had a record of 20 criminal cases while the other suspect had eight cases.

“Both of them have been remanded until Tuesday. They also tested positive for drugs,” ACP Nik Ezanee said.

On Friday, patrol cars from Gombak chased the Proton Waja from Kampung Desa Aman to the Sierramas roundabout in Sungai Buloh.

“Police then ordered the two men in the vehicle to exit but they refused and rammed into several vehicles to escape,” ACP Nik Ezanee said after the incident.

He said police were forced to fire shots at the vehicle after the suspects rammed into one of the police cars.

“The suspects abandoned their damaged vehicle along Jalan Kuala Selangor-Sungai Buloh after it sustained a puncture,” ACP Nik Ezanee explained.

ACP Nik Ezanee urged those who may have any information on the case to contact the police hotline at 03-2052 9999 or the nearest police station.
