“From May 13 to June 7, food and drinks shops, convenience stores and other shops at the R&R will operate from 6am to 10pm daily subject to conditions by the local authorities.

“However, only takeaways are allowed for food and drinks during this period,” PLUS chief operations officer Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi said in a statement yesterday.

He also said that contactless purchases of takeaways from 21 of the shops at R&R areas could be done via pre-orders through the PLUS app at https://orderdisini.plus.com. my/.

He reminded highway users that interstate and inter-district travel is prohibited except with police approval.

Zakaria urged those permitted to travel on the highway to use the free PLUS app Putri with its realtime traffic information feed, and the PLUS Unique Texting Realtime Interface or chatbot to plan their journey.

“PLUS will also stop all road maintenance and upgrading works during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations from May 11 to 17 except for critical emergency repairs, ” he said.

He added that more than 250 PLUSRonda teams will carry out round-the-clock patrols on the highways while those seeking assistance can contact PLUSLine di 1800-880000.

The patrols, he said, exclude towtruck services on standby at strategic locations along the highway during the festive period.

Zakaria said PLUS will also work closely with the police and Road Transport Department to ensure the safety of highway users.
