FOOTBALL fever is about to sweep across Malaysia as Sambill Park proudly presents a dual extravaganza: La Liga Youth League 2024 and La Liga Youth Tournament 2024.

Endorsed by Education Ministry, both events promise to showcase the best young talents in football from both national and international levels.

The action will kick off with the La Liga Youth League, commencing from June next month until May 2025 at several venues across Klang Valley.

The league-style competition is expected to feature over 100 teams across six age categories in two divisions as well as an Under-6 age group.

The champions of the first division will then qualify for the regional La Liga Youth Tournament in 2025.

The tournament’s fourth edition is to take place at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) from July 12 to 14.

The youth tournament last September saw the participation of 85 teams from countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Brunei, Taiwan and Hong Kong, with over 7,500 in attendance over three days.

This year’s edition at UPM will span across various age categories – from Under 8 to Under 21.

“We are thrilled to present these two prestigious events, offering young footballers a platform to shine and grow,” said Sambill Park managing director Daniel Wong at the launch of the two events at the SP Sports Park in Kuala Lumpur.

“Both tournaments exemplify our commitment to fostering excellence, sportsmanship and international camaraderie in youth football,” he said.

“La Liga is committed to the sustainable development of football around the world, and after three successful editions of the youth tournament, we are proud to expand our support to grassroots football in Malaysia with the arrival of the La Liga Youth League for the first time,” said La Liga delegate for Malaysia Adrian Prol.

“Participants will not only compete for glory, as the best player of the La Liga Youth Tournament will be selected and
