Builder assures roadusers of safety

-

“LLM must crack the whip” (Letters, April 20) refers. The Klang Valley MRT Project Delivery Partner, MMC-Gamuda KVMRT Sdn Bhd, wishes to clarify on the road condition near the Taman Tun Dr Ismail MRT Station.

There are several ongoing works in the area, which include drainage works, kerb construction and the last phase of the station and entrance construction works. As the roads are affected, temporary road maintenance is constantly carried out and is our standard practice. The Work Package Contractor is reinstating road markings at the station area. All construction work at the station is scheduled to be completed by the end of May and road resurfacing will follow right after.

“Items protruding from middle culverts” refers to manhole protrusions which will be levelled when the road resurfacing is done. The manhole protrusions have been temporarily smoothened.

The Pusat Bandar Damansara MRT Station, which the letter refers to, has completed most major construction work. This is why the roads there are in better condition.

The road lighting in the area is being fixed in stages and there is a team on standby to repair lighting within 24 hours. Permanent lighting will be fully functional by June.

We note all points raised and will ensure road conditions and night work are always looked into for the safety of roadusers.
