Adele’s life story in music and songs

-

MILESTONE PRODUCTION is bringing an award-winning international performance, that celebrates the life and songs of British singer Adele, exclusively to Malaysia starting tonight at 8pm, at Pentas 1, Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac). The show runs till Sunday.

Rumour Has It – Adele’s Life and Songs revisits this illustrious songstress’ meteoric rise to fame.

Hailing from a working class family from Tottenham, Adele Adkins has a big voice and even bigger dreams.

A passion for singing and music led her to pursue her studies in the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, where she studied alongside fellow popstars Jessie J. and Leona Lewis.

After she posted a demo from a class project on her MySpace account, little did she imagine that her life would change forever.

XL Recordings then launched her into stardom, as she took the world by storm with the album,

Since then, she has released hits after hits from a mega-platinum catalogue of songs, and even earned an Academy Award for her performance of Skyfall, the theme for the 2012 James Bond film.

Adele’s appeal to the masses goes beyond her powerful vocals and soulful lyrics. Much like how a real-life ‘rubbish relationship’ inspired her successful sophomore album Adele’s life story is the real inspiration behind this latest show.

Debuting in Brisbane in 2013, Rumour Has It – Adele’s Life and Songs has toured more than a dozen major cities in Australia, earning the Matilda Award for best musical/ cabaret , the Groundling Award for best musical production and the Sunday Mail Top Two Show 2013 Critic’s Choice Award.

This contemporary performance has earned positive reviews for its humour, musical prowess and the thoughtful and poignant celebration of a woman who is not afraid to expose her deepest emotions to the world.

Playing Adele is the spectacular Naomi Price ( right) who’s carved a name for herself in Australia for her appearance in the country’s fourth season of The Voice.

Price has prior onstage and offstage experiences, having produced, managed and directed a myriad of theatre projects before achieving fame through The Voice, and now, with Rumour Has It.

Thanks to a body suit, wigs, and the use of black-lace dresses and other costumes, Price transforms herself into the iconic diva Adele.

She also delivers where her voice is concerned, and has received praise for her world-class vocals, which have an uncanny resemblance to the British songstress she is emulating.
