DID you know that Pe­nang Med­i­cal Col­lege (PMC) is the first and only Ir­ish-owned med­i­cal school in Malaysia since 1996? Pres­ti­giously owned by the Royal Col­lege of Sur­geons in Ire­land (RCSI) and Univer­sity Col­lege Dublin (UCD), each with a his­tory of over 230 and 160 years re­spec­tively, in med­i­cal ed­u­ca­tion. con­gre­ga­tion from around the world. From this, they gain an ex­pe­ri­ence of a life­time, re­ceiv­ing qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion through the ex­per­tise of med­i­cal pro­fes­sion­als as ed­u­ca­tors in state-of-the-art fa­cil­i­ties.

Af­ter their stint abroad, stu­dents re­turn to PMC for clin­i­cal train­ing. They will be placed at its teach­ing hos­pi­tals, while re­main­ing as full-time stu­dents of RCSI or UCD. At PMC, they con­tinue with clin­i­cal train­ing for an­other 2.5 years, gain­ing hands-on ex­pe­ri­ences in teach­ing hos­pi­tals ex­clu­sive to PMC, as the only med­i­cal school in Pe­nang. PMC grad­u­ate doc­tors mark off with high­ly­cov­eted, glob­ally-recog­nised med­i­cal de­grees – the MB BCh BAO from the Na­tional Univer­sity of Ire­land, same de­grees as alumni of RCSI and UCD grad­u­ates.
