DID you know that Penang Medical College (PMC) is the first and only Irish-owned medical school in Malaysia since 1996? Prestigiou­sly owned by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and University College Dublin (UCD), each with a history of over 230 and 160 years respective­ly, in medical education. congregati­on from around the world. From this, they gain an experience of a lifetime, receiving quality education through the expertise of medical profession­als as educators in state-of-the-art facilities.

After their stint abroad, students return to PMC for clinical training. They will be placed at its teaching hospitals, while remaining as full-time students of RCSI or UCD. At PMC, they continue with clinical training for another 2.5 years, gaining hands-on experience­s in teaching hospitals exclusive to PMC, as the only medical school in Penang. PMC graduate doctors mark off with highlycove­ted, globally-recognised medical degrees – the MB BCh BAO from the National University of Ireland, same degrees as alumni of RCSI and UCD graduates.
