> Isuzu seriously positioning its cars for things other than ‘work’!
White Pearl unit is designed for the “busy executive with emphasis on a luxurious look and feel”. For “the rugged and adventurous”, the variant in exclusive Velvet Red Mica is designed for them. Lastly, the option in Stallion Black follows a theme of “edgy, urban underground living”. Isuzu Malaysia executive director Hajime Machimura said the new enhancements and features were aimed at equipping the D-Max to meet the demands of those looking for a stylish yet reliable vehicle to match their different lifestyles. “The Z-Prestige variant perfectly showcases how the new D-Max can be transformed into a premium 4x4 that can take pride of place even in the most luxurious urban setting one moment and yet take on the toughest terrains the next,” he said. New features in the Z-Prestige variant included Passive Entry and Start System (PESS), 18-inch alloy rims, projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, 8-inch touch-screen DVD player with 8-speaker surround sound system, new design electroluminescent (e-Lumax) meter panel with MultiInformation Display (MID), multimedia ports and smartphone compartment, leather seats and armrest. The new D-Max is based on design concepts of strong, emotional and sportiness. The vehicle’s shape closely mimics the killer whale’s(!), resulting in a high and rugged front and a spoiler shaped rear. All variants including even the lowest- specced model come with full complement of driving safety aids such as Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and Hill Start Assist (HSA), among others.
At the launch, the special edition sevenseater Isuzu mu-X “Type S” sport utility vehicle (SUV), which is based on the D-Max platform, was also unveiled.
It is enhanced with premium features such as Passive Entry and Start System (PESS), new 8-inch display audio system, new e-Lumax meter panel, new ivory-coloured leather seat and armrest, new shark fin antenna, new piano black interior dashboard, door and air-condition vent trims, new body-coloured front and rear skirting, rear bumper garnish and “Type S” badge. Hill Start Assist (HSA) has also been incorporated into the vehicle’s safety features.
The new refreshed Isuzu D-Max now comes with five-year or 150,000km warranty (three years or 100,000km, previously). The mu-X range, including the Type S, now comes with a five-year and unlimited mileage warranty.
