A good hair day
Under the spotlight: L'Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert Nutrifier range.
A snapshot: This new haircare collection is designed to combat dry and undernourished hair. Boasting of silicone-free ingredients, it is the first professional haircare to compensate for nutritional deficiency without overloading the fiber. There are six products – shampoo, conditioner, masque, dryness defense balm, blow dry cream, and overnight masque – as well as one in-salon treatment.
What’s in it? The two major ingredients are glycerol and coconut oil. Commonly found in moisturisers, glycerol has the ability to retain moisture. It also imitates fibre’s natural nourishing elements and deeply enhances hair nutrition. Coconut oil, on the other hand, nourishes dry hair – it adds lustre, shine and softness to the hair; and prevents hair breakage and split ends.
The process: Firstly, a hairstylist at Maxwell De'Salon in Jaya One, Petaling Jaya gave my hair a thorough shampoo cleanse. As she shampooed my hair, she punctuated the movement with gentle scalp massages at a kneading pressure that was just right for me. The result was a relaxing and soothing hair wash session that was gratifying. After that, it was time for the Powerdose. It is a monodose nutritive concentrate that aims to instantly transform your hair softer, shinier, more supple and easier to style. She applied the concentrate by manually smothering it into my hair strand by strand before utilising the Micro-mist device for 10 minutes. I was made to understand that the machine uses mist to better process the treatment as it improves the product penetration and absorption. Once that was done, I was ushered for the hot wrapping step that combines warm towel and soft cleansing with water trickle. Lastly, my hairstylist applied the blow-dry cream before she styled it to my preference.
Verdict: Since I have subjected my hair
I also like the fragrance of this series. L'Oréal Professionnel dubbed it the winning fragrance and I’m inclined to agree. It gave a pleasing aroma that stayed with me throughout the day. – the number one American Professional Brand in Asia – continues its growth in the professional salon haircare segment with its latest Biolage Advanced Keratindose for chemically damaged hair. What causes overprocessed hair is a few months of aggressive chemical-processing, colouring, blow-drying and/or flat iron to strip your tresses of essential moisture leaving you with dry, limp locks. Hence, the Biolage Advanced range offers the best solution to these specific types of damage powered by an advanced blend of botanicals and molecular science. The Matrix Biolage Advanced Keratindose range is available in selected Matrix Salons.
