Create a wow look

BLACK kohl eyeliner is a great way to highlight a pair of eyes, but it can also look extremely harsh.

So which eyeliner colour matches which eye colour?

"In the past most people went for matching hues: blue eyes with blue eyeliner, for example, to highlight the eyes' natural colour," explains Peter Schmidinger from the VKE beauticians' trade association.

"That's still a popular method and it can look fantastic." But there are other options. "Basically anything goes these days and all colours can be combined," says Schmidinger.

"When it comes to eyeliner the rule is that a colour that matches the eye colour will create a natural look, whereas a contrasting liner will make the eyes' colour stand out." – dpa
