City must smash transfer record to sign Auba

-

MANCHESTER CITY will have to smash their transfer record with Borussia Dortmund demanding £75 million for star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

City boss Pep Guardiola has made the Gabon international his No. 1 target after dropping out of form hit man Sergio Aguero.

But Dortmund who fended off interest from City in the summer are determined that they won’t budge from their valuation.

City’s current club record signing is Kevin De Bruyne who cost them £54 million when he moved from another German outfit Wolfsburg in 2015.

Aubameyang, 27, the current Bundesliga Player of the Year has also emerged as a target for Paris St Germain and Real Madrid.

Meanwhile Barcelona are lining up a move for Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Zabaleta is unlikely to be offered a new deal to remain at the Etihad Stadium as Guardiola looks to clear the decks of ageing members of his squad.

But that hasn’t put off Barca who are looking to replace Aleix Vidal especially if first choice Hector Bellerin opts to stay at Arsenal. – Express Newspapers
