Two in­jured in bus-tanker col­li­sion

TAPAH: Two peo­ple were in­jured, one se­ri­ously, in an ac­ci­dent in­volv­ing a tour bus and a tanker lorry at Km330 of the North-South Ex­press­way (south­bound) near the Tapah rest and re­cre­ation area yes­ter­day.

Tapah district po­lice chief Supt Som Sak Din Keliaw said in the ac­ci­dent which oc­curred at about 5.30am, fe­male pas­sen­ger Wan Nor Amni Wan Din, 22, suf­fered se­ri­ous head in­juries and be­came un­con­scious, while the bus co­driver Nur Azmi Mohd Nor, 50 was in­jured in the leg and ribs.

He said the in­ci­dent oc­curred when the bus, car­ry­ing 20 pas­sen­gers from Ke­lan­tan and head­ing to­wards Tan­jung Malim, failed to over­take the lorry laden with ce­ment, and crashed into the rear of the ve­hi­cle.

Both the in­jured were taken to Tapah Hos­pi­tal. – Ber­nama
