Charged with killing future brother-in-law

KUALA TERENGGANU: A carpenter was charged in the magistrate’s court yesterday with the murder of his prospective brotherin-law in October.

Mohd Hafiz Mohamad ( pix), 29, is charged with killing Mohammed Shukri Husin, 34, at a parking lot in front of the religious office at Seri Iman Complex at 11.39am on Oct 16.

Mohd Hafiz, who was wearing orange lock-up attire, nodded to indicate he understood the charge read to him. No plea was recorded.

Magistrate Abdul Hayyi Salim did not offer bail and fixed the case for mention on Dec 4. DPP Muhammad Asyraf Minhad appeared for the prosecution while the accused was represented by counsel Mazlan Md Zain. – Bernama
