Charged with killing fu­ture brother-in-law

KUALA TERENG­GANU: A car­pen­ter was charged in the mag­is­trate’s court yes­ter­day with the mur­der of his prospec­tive broth­erin-law in Oc­to­ber.

Mohd Hafiz Mo­hamad ( pix), 29, is charged with killing Mo­hammed Shukri Husin, 34, at a park­ing lot in front of the re­li­gious of­fice at Seri Iman Com­plex at 11.39am on Oct 16.

Mohd Hafiz, who was wear­ing orange lock-up at­tire, nod­ded to in­di­cate he un­der­stood the charge read to him. No plea was recorded.

Mag­is­trate Ab­dul Hayyi Salim did not of­fer bail and fixed the case for men­tion on Dec 4. DPP Muham­mad Asyraf Min­had ap­peared for the pros­e­cu­tion while the ac­cused was rep­re­sented by coun­sel Ma­zlan Md Zain. – Ber­nama
