AS THE holiday season approaches, beauty advent calendars are landing on shelves, with even more options to choose from for 2016. Dismissed by some as a passing trend, the beauty advent calendar has really taken off, with more ways than ever to countdown to Christmas with a selection of surprise beauty gifts. Options are now available for all budgets too, as a host of brands have released more affordable beauty advent calendars this year. Here’s a look at five affordable options for holiday 2016.
1 Sephora The cosmetics and perfume store has launched its own beauty advent calendar for 2016 with a selection of gifts in stylishly festive packaging. It features 24 little compartments with beauty surprises for every day, including makeup, skincare, bath and body products, and accessories from the Sephora collection (fizzy bath cubes, nail varnish, eye shadows, nail files, etc.). 2 Benefit Cosmetics Benefit has a mini advent calendar out for 2016 featuring 12 miniature versions of the brand’s makeup bestsellers, including “They’re Real!” mascara, “Lollibalm” lip balm and “Dandelion” brightening finishing powder. There’s even a “Benesong” to enjoy each time the brand’s “Girl O’Clock Rock” calendar is opened. 3 Nuxe The French beauty brand has a “10 Beauty Treasures” advent calendar out this year with 10 surprise gifts. These of course include the brand’s iconic “Huile Prodigieuse” body oil, as well as “Gentle Exfoliating Gel with Rose Petals” and “Nuxellence Eclat Anti-Ageing Care.”
4 L’Occitane The aromatherapy and phytotherapy focused brand has a 2016 beauty advent calendar designed by Kanako, who illustrates the My Little Paris web- site. A selection of must-have L’Occitane products come hidden in a festive snow-covered house, including “Immortelle Essential Water”, “Gentle Toner with Shea” and “Almond Milk Concentrate”.
5 Ciaté London Ciaté has an enchanting advent calendar out for holiday 2016, in festive shades of gold and purple. The “Ciaté London Mini Mani Month” calendar features 18 Ciaté London nail polishes, as well as a nail file, two glitter pots, a top coat and two nail care products.
