Cook­ing for Jef­frey are per­haps just as in­ti­mately ac­quainted with the dot­ing, sup­port­ive hus­band as they are with the host, as Jef­frey is a reg­u­lar fix­ture on her shows. Slip­ping in sec­ond spot on the list be­hind Cook­ing for Jef­frey is An­thony Bour­dain’s first cook­book in 10 years, Ap­petites: A Cook­book by An­thony Bour­dain. Ap­petites is de­scribed as a com­pi­la­tion of favourite recipes gath­ered over 40 years of travel and pro­fes­sional cook­ing, dishes he pre­pares reg­u­larly for friends and fam­ily – ap­proach­able recipes for the at-home chef. They in­clude roast chicken with lemon but­ter and can­died sweet pota­toes. Round­ing out the top three spots is Skin­ny­taste Fast and Slow: Knock­out Quick­Fix and Slow Cooker Recipes by pop­u­lar food blog­ger Gina Ho­molka and di­eti­tian-au­thor Heather K. Jones.

The book fea­tures 140 dishes like chicken and dumpling soup, Korean-style beef tacos and spicy harissa lamb ragu.
