PENANG REP QUERIED OVER ZUNAR EXHIBITION
GEORGE TOWN: Penang exco member Datuk Abdul Malik Abul Kassim had his statement recorded by police at his office in Komtar yesterday. Abdul Malik, who is also Batu Maung assemblyman, said he was interviewed for about 30 minutes in connection with the Zunar cartoon exhibition last week. “They were here to take my statement with regard to the Zunar exhibition”, he told reporters outside his office. Zunar, whose real name is Zulkifli SM Anwarul Haque, was detained under Section 4(1)(c) of the Sedition Act 1948 for intentional insult to provoke a breach of the peace under the Penal Code. He was released on Sunday.
