CLOSE CALL FOR MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS

BENTONG: Seven out of 14 climbers had a close call when lightning struck close to them while camping at the peak of Gunung Rajah near here. Bentong police chief Supt Mohamad Mansor Mohd Nor said all of them, however, were reported to be safe in the 12.30am incident. “Police were alerted at 12.36am by a man believed to be a climber from the group on the incident. A search and rescue operation was conducted and all 14 climbers are in the process of being brought down via Kuala Kubu Baru,” he said yesterday. – Bernama undergradu­ates allegedly involved in traffickin­g of cannabis last Thursday, the ministry said it viewed the case seriously. The ministry said the university concerned had taken action by suspending the three students from their studies until the case is disposed of by the court. Last Thursday, police arrested three undergradu­ates for drug possession at a public higher education institutio­n in Serdang. – Bernama
