MOM, DAUGHTER HELD FOR SHOPLIFTIN­G

JOHOR BARU: A mother and daughter were arrested for allegedly stealing various items of daily essentials worth RM1,300 at a supermarke­t in Taman Bukit Indah here on Saturday. Iskandar Puteri district police chief Supt Noor Hashim Mohamad yesterday said the two, aged 58 and 30, were arrested at about 1pm by a security guard at the supermarke­t before a police report was lodged at about 5.30pm. “Among the stolen items were two packets of rice, two bottles of cooking oil, laundry detergent, toys, several pieces of children’s clothing and a few bars of soap,” he told reporters yesterday. – Bernama
