Experience sun yoga and its benefits

-

SUN YOGA, the practice of gazing at the sun at a precise angle for a period of time, is known to benefit one’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. An ancient and long-forgotten practice, sun yoga makes a comeback, thanks to renowned Sunyogi Uma Sankar, among others.

While on a journey of self discovery, Uma Sankar discovered the method of absorbing the sun’s cosmic energy through his eyes. One day, while meditating at sunrise, he found that he was able to absorb powerful energies from the sun’s rays. Through daily practice, he found himself receiving many benefits from this practice, which included having an indescribable feeling of peace and calm within. He also found that he had no need to eat, drink or sleep. Yet, his body weight remained the same and he was able to execute his daily routine which, included working in a printing press by day.

Still, the Sunyogi’s ultimate purpose was to achieve peace, which he believed could only be attained through self-realisation (“discovering who I am,” he says). He discovered this during his time in an isolated ashram in the Himalayas, where he also attained deeper insights into Sun Yoga.

The fundamental principles of his teachings are based on a common goal of unity, peace and brotherhood. His message is directed at people of all religions. His ideas are based on humanity, which makes no distinction between colour, race or religion.

Sun Yoga is apt for those looking for meaning in life, overall well-being and peace. Through Sun Yoga, Uma Shankar has also helped many people deal with chronic diseases. To experience Sun Yoga and how it can benefit you, join Sunyogi Uma Shankar’s two Sun Yoga sessions on:
