PUTRAJAYA: A former deputy president of the Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM) was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday for investigations on alleged misappropriation of RM223,000 which was purportedly disbursed to the poor. The 69-year-old man was arrested at the commission’s headquarters here when the suspect was summoned for questioning over the case. However, the suspect was released about five hours later. He was held following the arrest of a 47-year-old senior director of the foundation on Tuesday.
