SISTER MOTHER

-

As mothers who are often mistaken as their children’s sister due to their youthful looks and “friendly” relationship with their children, the sister mother surely relishes the compliments (while their children cringe, of course). While not all mothers are lucky enough to have the evergreen physique or appearance, it helps this mum create a bond that goes beyond the normal mother-and-child relationship. Resembling a connection between siblings or friends, it provides this mum a gateway into her children’s mindsets and their world. The bond also creates a sense of intimacy and respect for each other. Yet, the sister mother must be cautious in handling the mother-child relationship as it can negatively affect both parties just as well as it can help. One potential problem it can create is when one party crosses the boundaries. While every mother wants to be close and involved in the children’s development, they must also be prepared to be firm in their roles, as well as respect each other’s space. For the adolescent or more matured male child with this mum, he might not want to be seen with her at cinemas or night spots.
