The main role of communications in a corporation is to strategise and execute effective communication plans to advance an organisation’s mission, vision and profit by exploring the purposeful use of communication.
They are highly skilled professionals in the arts of planning, problem solving, and persuading, with a sharp understanding of their audiences’ needs and interests. They know how to craft the right message and send it to the right audience at the right time.
The study of communications also serves as a suitable foundation for a myriad of careers in a wide range of fields, such as marketing, advertising, journalism, social media, broadcasting and international relations.
SEGi University and Colleges offers one of the widest range of communication studies with one common goal – to educate students so they can be accomplished, professional communicators.
Through these programmes, students will learn to apply strategic communication techniques in specific types of organisational settings. They will also learn how different communication tools (print and online media, events, social network sites, newsletters, marketing campaigns) can effectively influence the public, which will lead them to become ethical and culturally sensitive communicators.
There are options to graduate from either SEGi University, or obtain two degrees under a dual award programme, or to graduate with an Australian degree that is completed entirely in Malaysia.
Collaborations with international universities of great repute will help to enhance the student's qualifications and employability. As a result, more than 90% of graduates are employed in the industry within the first six months upon graduation.
