> Samsung Malaysia Electronics unveils a new range of premium QLED TV for the local market

- BY AZIZUL RAHMAN ISMAIL

THERE’S a new range of TVs in town, and it aims to redefine the ultimate viewing experience with truer colours, heighten picture quality, advanced technology, and sophisticated design.

These are not empty claims because the maker of these TVs, Samsung, has been the global market leader for the past 11 years.

This new range of premium QLED TVs first made its debut at the Las Vegas’ Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this year.

The TVs were recently unveiled for the local market by Samsung Malaysia Electronics at an event attended by our own Badminton World Federation champion Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei.

Samsung Malaysia’s Consumer Electronics Business head Jimmy Tan said: “We are thrilled to be leading the TV industry into a world of Quantum dot-powered displays featuring the best picture quality with 100% colour volume for a superior viewing experience.”

He added that with the stateof-the-art style, smart features, and picture quality, the 2017 QLED line-up would usher in a new era of TV.

QLED TVs uses a technology that lets it produce 100% colour volume. Colour volume is a standard of colour expression.

Samsung says that its new QLED TVs’ expanded colour volume provides more realistic, accurate, and vibrant HDR images as what is intended by the director or content creator, in both dark and bright scenes.

Samsung’s QLED TVs also feature the One Remote Control, a single device that can be used to control all of your devices and, when coupled with the TV’s smart capabilities, makes the viewing experience easier.

Complementing the TVs superior technology is their luxurious premium design.

Samsung’s QLED TVs are built slim with clean lines and a sophisticated mounting and component interface system.

They can be mounted flush on a wall with only a single clean and an unobtrusive optical cable connecting the TV to a One Connect Box, which is where all the TV’s input and output ports reside. Optionally, those who opted not to mount their TV onto the wall can pick from a range of stylish Samsung TV stands such as the Studio Stand which is made to look like an easel and the rotatable Gravity Stand.

The new series of QLED TVs is available now from all Samsung brand shops and authorised dealers nationwide. There are six models available – from the 55in QA55Q7FAMKXXM to the 88in QA88Q9FAMKXXM. Prices range from RM12,999 to RM99,999.

In conjunction with the launch, Samsung Malaysia in collaboration with iflix, are offering 12 months of complimentary iflix subscription with any purchase of a 2017 Samsung Smart TV. The promotion ends on June 30.
