New sneakers collaboration

FRENCH brands Guerlain and le coq sportif have teamed up to design a limited edition sneaker which is sure to sell out quickly this summer. The Arthur Ashe W x Guerlain sneakers will be available from June 1.

This footwear collaboration is no accident, as it coincides with the early June launch of the latest version of Guerlain’s “La Petite Robe Noire” fragrance. A perfect opportunity for the luxury goods house and the casual sports brand to design a pair of sneakers inspired by the mythical fragrance.

An iconic perfume and a classic sneaker have come together to make something new. The brands decided to rework the Arthur Ashe, one of le coq sportif’s most famous models. While its shape is still very recognisable, its design has been transformed into the epitome of chic, glamour and sportsmanship.

The black and white colours of “La Petite Robe Noire” are reflected in this limited edition. The uppers feature a mesh design, and the sole is made of transparent sparkly rubber. And the tongue of each shoe is decorated with either a little black dress (reminding us of the perfume) or a cockerel (reminding us of the sports brand), both of which can be seen on the heels.

Each box of Arthur Ashe W x Guerlain sneakers contains a mini ceramic perfume dispenser that can be used as a bracelet, and a sample of the fragrance. – AFP Relaxnews
