> Real Madrid think Barcelona star Neymar could join Manchester United in the summer
REAL MADRID think Neymar could quit Barcelona for Manchester United if the Red Devils were to beat Ajax to win the Europa League, according to reports.
Manchester United were schedule to face Ajax in Stockholm this morning aiming to win the Europa League for the first time in their illustrious history.
After a disappointing sixth-placed finish in the Premier League, the competition is United’s only route into next season’s Champions League.
Given their frustrating campaign, Jose Mourinho is set to embark on another spending spree after shelling out £150million (RM836m) on the likes of Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly last
summer. However, the Portuguese knows that Champions League football is pivotal when it comes to
luring superstar signings to Old Trafford.
Express Sport relationship with Neymar’s representatives, and thinks the player could jump ship to the Premier League and United if the club triumph in Sweden.
However, another option is dethroned Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG’s owners Oryx Qatar Sports Investments have long harboured hopes of bringing the player to France, with Neymar’s father claiming last year they were willing to build a hotel in the 25-year-old’s name and offer him a private jet in order to snap him up.
The report adds that, while United are keen to build a stunning team for next season, PSG also have a negotiating trick up their sleeve.
Former Real star Angel Di Maria is one of their summer targets, with reports claiming club talisman Lionel Messi is encouraging the Catalan giants to sign his compatriot. PSG could throw the former United star in as part of a deal, though the Red Devils are likely to push them all the way for his signature. Their cause is helped by the fact his father is encouraging his son to chance his arm in England, believing he cannot ever be Barcelona’s main man when Messi is still in the side. – Express Sport
