> Chelsea boss set for crunch talks with Abramovich over future

-

CHELSEA BOSS Antonio Conte will hold talks with club owner Roman Abramovich over his Stamford Bridge future, according to reports.

Conte’s position at Chelsea has reportedly grown uncertain in recent months despite guiding the club to the Premier League title in his first season in charge.

The Italian is supposedly upset at the Blues’ lack of transfer activity with the club yet to sign any players.

Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Juventus’ Alex Sandro are on their radar but neither deals are yet to be sealed.

Conte is concerned that their slow approach could leave them with ground to catch up on their league rivals.

Manchester United have already signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica and are being heavily linked with moves for Real Madrid duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata.

Manchester City, meanwhile, have sealed a deal for Bernardo Silva, who signs on at the Etihad after helping Monaco pip Paris SaintGermain to the Ligue 1 title.

And the Telegraph claim that Conte is now set for talks with Abramovich over his future.

It is said that the Blues are confident their manager will stay after positive conversations between the Italian and club chiefs.

The report says that Conte’s talks with Abramovich could clarify whether they can continue to work together in the future.

But they still expect him to be in charge when they kick off their season against Arsenal in the Community Shield on Aug 6.

It is said the Italian will, however, be berated over his treatment of striker Diego Costa.

Conte told the Spain international he was free to leave via a text message – according to the player himself.

And the Telegraph claim that Abramovich will tell his manager that the decision to do so violated club protocol. – Express Newspapers
