BURSA Malaysia ended slightly higher yesterday in cautious trading, underpinned by market uncertainties on weaker global sentiment.

The FBM KLCI closed at 1,777.43, up 1.86 points on a mix of buying interest and profit-taking.

On the broader market, gainers led losers 459 to 389, with 367 counters unchanged, 574 untraded and 34 suspended.

A dealer said overall sentiment was still cautious following the decline in global oil prices on concerns over growing supply.

ForexTime chief market strategist Hussedin Sayed said oil prices are becoming the primary driver of the financial markets. – Bernama
