BANK NEGARA’S INTERNATIO­NAL RESERVES UP SLIGHTLY AT MID-JUNE

PETALING JAYA: Bank Negara Malaysia’s internatio­nal reserves stood at US$98.7 billion (RM436.1 billion) as at June 15, 2017 – 0.7% higher than the US$98 billion recorded as at May 31, 2017. The central bank said in a statement yesterday the reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.2 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times the short-term external debt.
