“My sisters and I are determined to keep this recipe alive, and pass it down to our children.”

Actress Che Puan Juliana Evans

Actor-TV host Fahrin Ahmad “In March, my father-in-law passed away. I was close to him and I miss him very much. His death taught me never to take anyone for granted.

“This Raya, I’m planning to spend more time with my parents and my mother-inlaw in Johor Baru. I also plan to visit my older uncles and aunties.

“Life is too short and we should cherish everyone we love.”

Actress Sherry Alhadad “I was born here. But my mother was born in Kuching. Every Raya, I will travel to Kuching with my mum to spent time with her relatives.

“In Sarawak, the signature Raya dish is the kuih lapis. Wherever you go in Sarawak during Raya, you will be served kuih lapis.

“Every Ramadan, I would make it a point to do some charity. Last year, my friends and I organised a buka puasa event for children with cancer. This year, we planned something for single mothers.

“After Raya, I intend to put up a monologue play that depicts my life.”

TV host-actor Akhmal Nazri “Last Ramadan and Raya, I was working. This time, I decided to take a different approach.

“I worked less during the fasting month and instead tried to get closer to God.

“I also refused any job offers on Raya. I want to spend time with my parents and siblings in Ipoh.

“Raya is the best time to catch up with your family. During other days, we are just too busy with our daily lives to catch up with our relatives.”
