Delivering ‘Happyness’

community service programme called “Delivering Happyness” by Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB) and Grab Malaysia (Grab) recently culminated in a ceremony where donations were handed to Rumah Kasih Harmoni Paya Jaras and 12 other “homes” across the country.

The programme, which ran from June 12 to June 18, received overwhelmi­ng response from the public, through which PDB and Grab managed to collect close to 10,000 items comprising educationa­l and activity books plus a range of stationery items.

ASHARING AND CARING

During the one-week campaign, Grab customers and members of the public were encouraged to make a “donation” by clicking on the “Delivering Happyness” icon on the Grab app. Overwhelmi­ng response from the public saw donations pouring in and 20 Grab driver-partners involved in this programme – on the go. Their duty was to pick up the donated items and drop them at designated collection centres establishe­d at 20 Petronas stations.

Donors who made the “Delivering Happyness” booking were given a Petronas Hari Raya Edition voucher in return.

GIVING AND RECEIVING

Grab Malaysia country head Sean Goh shared his delight on the good response and expressed his gratitude to PDB for the partnershi­p. He also thanked the public for their contributi­ons and Grab drivers for their participat­ion.

PDB head of retail business Aadrin Azly shared Goh’s sentiments on the outcome. “We are extremely happy with the response received on the ‘Delivering Happyness’ programme and to be able to touch so many lives across the country. I would like to thank all Malaysians for their contributi­ons in making this programme a success, and more importantl­y, giving the children the future they deserve,” he said.
